LITTLE DONKEY
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen
When I wanted to make a little donkey for a graphic, I couldn`t find a tutorial for one,
so I scanned a photo of an ornament I have and made one myself from that.
Then I thought other people might like to make him, so I made this tutorial!
Before we begin you will need my files zip.
Unzip the "kkdonkeysels" folder into your psp selections folder,
and the fur fills into a folder of your choice.
Ready?... lets begin

Start a new image as in fig 1
Open up the 4 fur fills and minimise them.
Add a new layer (layers / new raster layer), call it "body"
Go selections / load from disk and open "kkbody.sel"
Set your foreground to pattern and load "kkmedfur" as in fig 2.
Activate your flood fill tool and left click inside the selection to fill with fur,
deselect (selections / select none).

Add a new layer and call it "offlegs", go selections / load from disk and open "kkofflegs.sel", flood fill with med fur as before and deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "nearlegs". Load "kknearlegs.sel"
and fill with med fur as before then deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "head", load "kkhead.sel" fill with med fur and deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "ears". Load "kkears.sel" and fill with med fur then deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "eyes". Load "kkeyes.sel". Set your background to solid colour, black, and right click selection to fill with black.
Go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel and apply as in fig 3 then deselect.
Add a new layer and call it "muzzle". Load "kkmuzzle.sel",
alter the pattern fill settings as in fig 4.
Left click the selection to fill then apply inner bevel as in fig 5.
Add a new layer and call it "nostrils", load "kknostrils.sel".
Change the fill pattern to kkdarkfur as in fig 6.
Left click to fill then apply inner bevel as in fig 7 then deselect.
Add a new layer and call it mouth". Load "kkmouth.sel"
then right click to fill with black, deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "highlights". Load "kkhighlights.sel".
Change the fill pattern to "kklightfur" as in fig 8, left click to fill then deselect.
Add a new layer and call it "shading". Load "kkshading.sel".
Change the fill pattern to "kkdarkfur" as in fig 9.
Left click to fill and deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "manetail". Load "kkmanetail.sel".
Change the fill pattern to "kkmanetailfur" as in fig 10.
Left click to fill then deselect.

Add a new layer and call it "hooves". Load "kkhooves.sel".
Change the background colour to #B4A68E,
right click to fill then apply inner bevel as in fig 11.
Now go layers / merge / merge visible.

Activate your retouch tool and set as in fig 12.
Click on the middle tab and change setting to "smudge". Close dialogue box.

Carefully use the retouch tool to smudge around the edges to soften and "fluff" them a bit, and blend in where the different shades meet up.

Now resize your donkey as preferred - the sample below is at 60%...
(I did the smudging quickly as a guide, take your time to achieve a better look)

Now go effects / sharpen / sharpen

That it... your very own little donkey.  Tube him or save as psp image.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for PSP7 but should adapt for other versions.
