EASY~PEASY EASTER EGG |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
I have found eggs one of the hardest things of all to master, and have been almost to the point of giving up trying! I tried several tutorials, but all of them just got me confused to say the least. I found them very hard to follow. One even seemed to have a step missing, and my egg, which was developing well, suddenly disappeard into oblivion when I did what the tut said to do. So I improvised. Based on what I learned from various tuts, and some trial and error putting my own ideas into action, I developed an easier way to make eggs. I hope you will also find my tutorial fun and easy to do. Here`s how I do mine... |

Egg shown greatly reduced |
Start a new image as in fig 1 |

Click on the preset shapes tool, right click it, select tool options and make settings
as fig 2. |

Close the dialogue box on shapes tool. Click on the floodfill tool, right click it and make settings as fig 3. |
Next open your styles pallette and choose a colour, gradient or fill pattern. Place your pointer on the canvas and draw an oval shape as in fig 4 |

Click on the node edit or object selector tool ( arrow in a box - usually under the
shapes tool) Hold down the shift key and drag the bottom left and bottom right edges of the oval (X) outwards, be careful to keep them as even as you can. When you have ann egg shape, go to selections / select none. (fig 5) |

Next go to layers / merge / merge all (flatten). Click on the magic wand tool and then click on the image outside the egg, then go to selections / invert. Now go to effects / 3D effects / cutout (make settings as in fig 6) click ok. |

Don`t deselect but go back to effects / 3D effects / cutout, change the settings as in fig 7, click ok. |

Go back to your styles pallette and set it to solid colour / white Click on the paintbrush tool and make settings as in fig 8 |

Carefully draw in a highlight as in fig 9 |

Click the magic wand tool then click on the image outside the egg. Go to selections / invert, then to effects / blur / blur and then effects / noise / add, make the settings as fig 10 and click ok. |

Go to selections / modify / contract. ( Number of pixels = 1) click ok. Click on the egg then go to edit / copy / edit / paste as new image. That`s it... now you can save it / tube it / resize it / pretty much do anything except eat it!!! Enjoy yourself... |
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for P.S.P V 7 but should adapt
