This is likely to be my easiest and quickest tutorial ever... there are no screen shots because there`s no need for them, there`s no lengthy instructions taking you through pages and layers of confusion, and no time consuming or hard-disk gobbling downloads to perform.!... the above image was achieved by mistake in record time, I want to share this accidental discovery with you...

Open the image you want to apply a mask to. Now go mask / load from disk, select your mask and click on "open" to apply. If the mask is the wrong way round and covering the main part of your image go mask / invert...otherwise continue as below. Go layers / new raster layer and apply. Set your foreground to any colour, pattern or gradient you like then activate your flood fill tool. Left click on your image then go layers / arrange / move down. That`s it... now that wasn`t too bad was it???
