EASY~PEASY GHOSTING
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen
I was recently asked to design a water safety postcard for a tourist centre.
While making the postcard, it occurred to me that I should write a tutorial for the effect I had in mind.
I have seen other tutorials for similar effects, but they have been rather difficult to follow, and after experimenting, I found my own, much easier and quicker method to achieve it. Here`s how...
Before we start, you will need a photo and suitable tube.
If you would like to use my photo simply right click and save it on your hard drive.
The photo is my own original, it is copyrighted and may be used for the purpose
of working on this tutorial only. Thankyou.
If you like my tube you may download it
HERE.
Ready ? ... let`s begin...

Open your chosen photo in psp and add a new layer (layers / new raster layer)
as fig 1.
Open your tubes tool and choose the tube you want to use,
sizing it as appropriate for the photo you are using. (fig 2)
Close the tubes dialogue box then click on the photo to add the tube.
Use your mover tool to position it as required.
Now go view / toolbars then tick/check "Layer Pallette" then click "close".
Use the slider in layer 1 to lower the opacity to about 60% or to your preference. (fig 3)
Close the dialogue box. If any part of your "ghost" is in front of something,
and you want it behind, simply use the eraser to take off any unwanted bits.
When you are happy with the position of the "ghost" go layers / merge / merge all (flatten).  That`s it!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for PSP7 but should adapt for other versions.
