MAKING A GLASS GLOBE |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
In this tutorial I am going to show you how I make my own "glass" globes and tube
them. It is much easier than you would imagine once you have a basic knowledge of your P.S.P tools and controls. This tutorial is written for version 7, but minor adjustments should make it usable in other versions. |
MAKING A BASIC ROUND GLOBE Start a new transparent image as fig 1. |
Set background colour to white. Click on your preset shapes tool then right click on it and select tool options. make your settings as fig 2. |
Drag your pointer over the canvas to create a circle (fig 3) then go to layers / convert to raster. |
Close window to return to index If you didn`t come here from the tutorials index and want to go there now CLICK HERE |

Click selections tool then right click and select tool options (fig 4) |

draw a box around the circle (fig 5) then right click on it to select it (fig 6) |

Go to selections / defloat and hit cut (scissors) (fig 7) |

Now go layers / new raster layer, OK (fig 8) |

Next go effects / 3D effects / cutout (fig 9 / 10) |

Go layers / new raster layer OK (fig 11) |

Click airbrush tool, right click it and choose tool options. Set as fig 12 and close dialogue box. |

Set foreground colour to white use the airbrush to "paint" highlights onto "glass" (fig 13) |

Now go effects / blur / gaussian blur, set as fig 14 and click OK. |

Next go layers / merge / merge visible, then edit / copy / edit / paste as new image (fig 15) |

That`s it... now tube it or save as psp image. Why not add some sculpture or texture effects and make some unique coloured globes like I do... Try making other shapes too... Have Fun! |
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for pspv7 but should adapt for
other versions |
