LACE FRAME FROM MASK
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen
I was playing around with psp and masks trying to find different effects,
and I accidentally made a frame shaped mask look like it was made of lace.
I liked the effect so much as I love real lace.
I thought I would try to recreate the frame so I can show you how to do it too!
Here`s how to make a very simple but very effective lace frame...
Start a new image as in fig 1.
Before we begin, you will need a frame shaped mask, the more delicate in appearance the better,
or you can download mine
HERE  (unzip into your psp masks folder)
Ready?... Let`s make lace...!!!
Go to Masks / Load from Disk.
Search for "kkm33" (or your mask) as in fig 2 then click open.
Your image should look like fig 3.
It`s already looking pretty lacy, but it just needs a little bit of editing
to make it appear more defined.... (you won`t notice much difference while doing this
but it will look better when you use the finished frame!)
Next, go to effects / enhance photo / clarify, set as fig 4.
Now go to effects / edge / trace contour, then effects / edge / enhance more,
and then effects / sharpen / sharpen more.
Now go file / save as, find your psp frames folder and save as in fig 5.
(Make sure you add the file extention
.pfr after the name or the frame won`t work!)
You could also tube it or save as a normal psp image.
To use your new frame...
open the picture you want to use then go to image / picture frame.
use the drop down list to find "laceframe" (or whatever you named it!) as in fig 6.
Click next, choose whether you want the frame "inside" or "outside" the picture
as in fig 7.
Click finish... your picture will now have a pretty lace effect frame (fig 8)
Now go layers / merge / merge visible and save it. That`s all there is to it!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, which was written for PSP V 7 but should adapt for other versions.
