PHOTO MONEY BOX Your Photo on a "china" Money Box |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
My father and I used to have a little home based business, glazing photo`s onto china
collectors items. I still have some of the ones we made for our "samples" display, and when looking at them the other day, thought how nice it would be to do something similar in PSP. So I have photographed them and hope to be able to digitally recreate them, then write tutorials so others can make them too!. This is the fifth tutorial in the planned series, I hope you like it!... Before we begin you will need my files... CLICK HERE to download. Unzip "kkmoneyboxselections" folder into your selections folder, and "kktfbabylamb.tub" into a folder of your choice, also right click and save my "kkgolden" fill into a folder of your choice, preferably with the tube. You will also need your own photo. Ready?... let`s create our money box! |

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which is written for PSP V 7 but should work in
other versions. |
Open your photo in psp, use your selections tool set at square, antialias 0, feather
0. Drag the mouse around the main part of the photo to select a square area. (This is important because if you leave the photo oblong, when placing into the selection on the money box, it will be out of proportion.) Go edit / copy / edit / paste as new image. Minimise (click minus (-) sign at the top.) also open"kkgolden.jpg" and "kktfbabylamb.tub"... and minimise as well. Start a new image as in fig 1. |
Go layers / new raster layer / ok. Now go selections / load from disk... browse to find the folder "kkmoneyboxselections" double click the folder then find "kkmoneyboxy.sel" highlight it then click "open". Flood fill with #EFEDED then go effects / blur / blur more. Now go effects / 3D effects / outer bevel and apply as in fig 2. |
Add a new layer as before. Go back to selections / load from disk and open "kkmoneybox.sel". Flood fill white and repeat inner bevel as fig 2 then deselect. Add a new layer, go to selections / load from disk and open "kkrosettefrill.sel". Flood fill white then go effects / 3D effects / outer bevel, apply as in fig 3. |
Now go layers / arrange / send to bottom and deselect (selections / select none). Add a new layer, go to selections / load from disk and open "kkmoneyboxridge.sel". Flood fill with #F2F0F0 and keep selected. Go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel and apply as in fig 4. |
Keep selected and go effects / 3D effects / drop shadow #DBD7D7 and apply as in fig

Deselect then add a new layer. Go selections / load from disk and open "kkmoneyboxgoldrim.sel". Open "kkgolden.jpg" resize by 50% then go edit / copy, close the fill then go edit / paste into selection. Now go effects / edge / enhance then deselect. Add a new layer, go selections / load from disk and oprn "kkmoneyboxinner.sel" flood fill white and apply inner bevel as in fig 6. |

Go selections / modify / expand by 3 then add drop shadow as in fig 9. |

Next apply drop shadow as in fig 10 |

Now add a new layer. Load "kkmoneyboxslot.sel" then go effects / 3D effects / cutout and apply as in fig 11. |

Next go layers / merge / merge visible then go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel
and apply as in fig 12. |

Open "kkbabylamb.tub" and change the scale to 35% then go edit / copy and close the tube. Load "kkmoneyboxleft.sel" then go edit / paste into selection. Now go effects / sharpen / sharpen then layers / merge / merge visible. Next go image / flip, repeat last inner bevel then image / flip.
