EASY~PEASY SCREEN CAPTURE |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
I am writing this tutorial because I have had many people ask me how I do the screen
captures I use in the tutorials. Well, the P.S.P manual instructions are very
long winded and confusing to a beginner, I certainly can`t make a screen capture
using the manual!!! Luckily someone told me an easier way ( thanks Gina) and so I would like to share with you. Here`s how I make my screen captures... |
Lets first assume you are working in P.S.P, and want to capture the screen contents-
or part of it, either to use on a tutorial or web page, or to keep for future reference of how you got a particular effect etc. For this tutorial we will pretend we are making a new globe and want to capture the "glass" step... we simply press the "print screen" key on the keyboard... OK, so it doesn`t seem to do anything ( I often gave up at this point not thinking it had worked!)... now you go to edit /paste as new image, hey presto, a miniature screen pops up!. (fig 1) |

Now lets assume we only wanted to keep the part containing the globe. Go to selections tool, right click and select tool options, set as fig 2. |

Next, drag the pointer round the globe part, release the mouse button to select it,
then go to edit /copy /edit /paste as new image. You will now have your selected portion of the first screen capture. (fig 3) |

If the captured portion is too big try resizing it before saving on your computer.
That`s it!!! Happy Capturing.......... |
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written in P.S.P V 7 but should adapt
for other versions. |
