KEEPSAKE
SHIELD PLAQUE
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen
My father and I used to have a little home based business, glazing photo`s onto china collectors items.
I still have some of the ones we made for our "samples" display, and when looking at them the other day, thought how nice it would be to do something similar in PSP.
So I have photographed them and hope to be able to digitally recreate them,
then write tutorials so others can make them too!.

This is the fourth tutorial in the planned series, I hope you like it!...
Before we begin you will need my files...
CLICK HERE to download and unzip into your selections folder.
You will also need a photo of your choice and my golden fill, right click and save into a folder on your computer.

Ready?... let`s create our shield plaque!

Open your photo in psp, use your selections tool set at square, antialias 0, feather 0.
Drag the mouse around the main part of the photo to select a square area.
(This is important because if you leave the photo oblong,
when placing into the selection on the plaque, it will be out of proportion.)
Go edit / copy / edit / paste as new image. Minimise (click minus (-) sign at the top.)
also open"kkgolden.jpg"... and minimise as well.
Start a new image as in fig 1.
Go layers / new raster layer / ok.

double click the folder then find "kkshieldbase.sel" highlight it then click "open".
Flood fill with white then deselect (selections / select none)

Go selections / load from disk and open "kkshield.sel".
keep selected and set your background to pattern, load "kkgolden" as your fill
(double click on current pattern on the pallette and browse for kkgolden, it should be at the top. Change the scale to 75%, angle 0). using your flood fill tool right click to fill the selection, keep selected then go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel and apply as in fig 4.
Now go effects / sharpen / sharpen, then selections / modify / contract by 9.
Keep selected and flood fill with white.

Open your minimised photo and go edit / copy,
close the photo then go edit / paste into selection.
Next go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel and apply as in fig 6.
Repeat the drop shadow but change the vertical and horizontal offsets to minus 1 (-1).
