EASY~PEASY SHIMMERING NAME TAG

I was experimenting with different animation effects when I discovered this lovely effect, so I made a name tag using it, here`s how...

Before we begin, you will need a metallic effect gradient. You can download mine HERE if you want it.

Ready?  here we go... Start a new image as fig 1.

Go layers / new raster layer, set as fig 2.

Set your styles pallette so your foreground and background are both on gradient, open the pallette and set them both as fig 3 with your chosen gradient.

Click the text tool ("A" in a box) the click on your image to open the tool. Choose your font (a bold one looks best but it`s up to you), make the size so the word/name you want will fit in the canvas and type it out (fig 4) then click ok (fig 5)

Next go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel, set as fig 6.

Go effects / sharpen / sharpen then selections / select none. Now go image / add borders... if a message pops up say yes set as fig 7 then click ok.

Using the magic wand click on the border to select it, click on the flood fill tool and click inside the selected border to fill with gradient. Go back to effects / 3D effects / inner bevel and click ok, then effects / sharpen/ sharpen, then selections / select none. If you like the result so far why not save it now as an extra tag before you continue! Next go edit / copy then file / jasc software products / launch animation shop. When animation shop opens, go edit / paste as new animation. Now go effects / insert image effect, set as fig 8 and click ok.

Animation shop will automatically make several frames in a rainbow shimmer effect... now go file / save as... give it a name and save it where you can find it as fig 9.

That`s it!!! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for PSP 7 but should adapt for other versions.
