STAINED GLASS PICTURE |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
I really like the stained glass effect and was thrilled when I discovered a way to
make my own in PSP. I would like to share my method for making stained glass pictures through this tutorial. Before we begin, you will need some "Stained Glass" effect tiles, and a black & white line art picture, preferably on transparent background. If you don`t have these, you may download mine HERE Unzip these files into a new folder where you can find it, you don`t need to put them in your psp! Ready?... lets get making our picture... |
Open your black & white line art picture and keep it on your work space. Open all
the glass tiles and minimise them (click on the minus (-) symbol on top of the
tile). You probably won`t be using all the colours, but I like to have them all available together for convenience.!. Click on your magic wand tool then click on the blank canvas outside the picture, then click inside the picture to select the black lines. Now go effects / 3D effects / inner bevel, set as fig 1 and click ok. |

Go to your styles pallette and make the foregound pattern fill (fig 1a) and the background null (fig 2) then open the pallette by clicking on the fill pattern (fig 3) |

Using the drop down menu choose the first glass colour you want to use ( the minimised tiles should appear at the top of the choices), click on the colour you want to use then click ok. (fig 4) |

Click on your magic wand then use it to click and select (inside the black lines)
where you want to use the first colour, (fig 5) |

Now click on your flood fill tool and use it to fill the selected area with coloured
glass by clicking inside the selection. (fig 6) |

Next go selections / select none to deselect. Go back to your magic wand and select the next part where you want the first colour, then back to flood fill and fill the selection as before. Deselect and repeat these steps until you have done all the parts where you want the first colour (fig 7) |

Go back to your styles pallette, open the pallette and choose the next colour, click
on it then click ok. Repeat as for the first colour until you have done all
you want in the second colour, (fig 8) then repeat everything for each colour
you want to use until you have finished the picture (fig 9) |

You can change some bits now if you like, or add more of previous colours until you are happy with it ( I did!). Now go edit / copy / edit / paste as new image to remove unwanted canvas. That`s it... now you can tube it or save as psp image to use anytime. |
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, which was written for psp 7 but should adapt for
other versions. |
