UNICORN`S HORN
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen
I have been asked where I get my unicorn pictures from for some of my graphics.
The truth is I have turned some horse pictures into unicorns myself!!!
Someone then asked me where did I get the horn from? I made it with P.S.P.
Here`s how...it`s really easy, try it and turn some horses into unicorns yourself...
You will need JASC`s "Rope" tube, available from
HERE
First, start a new image (file / new) and make the settings as fig 1.
Click on the tubes tool, then right click and choose "tool options".
Select the "rope" tube and make settings as fig 2
Starting at the top right corner,
draw a "rope" line as straight as you can towards the bottom left corner (fig 3)
Go to the selections tool, right click it and choose tool options. Make settings as fig 4
Use the selections tool to crop off along the line edges to form a point (fig 5)
Next  round off the tip and flatten the end a bit.
You can reduce the length if preferred. Now go back along the edges to slightly round
off the bumpy bits and take off some sharp edges. (fig 5)
You need to remove unwanted canvas, so go to edit / copy / edit / paste as new image.
You can close the original image as you will be working on the new one.
(fig 7)
You are almost done, but Unicorn`s horns are traditionally supposed to be solid gold...
so we need to do a bit more.
Now go to effects / texture effects / sculpture, and choose the default gold effect.
Make the settings as fig 8 and click ok.
You should now have a golden horn, tube it ( file / export / picture tube...name it...ok)
That`s it!!!

Now You can turn Horses into Unicorns too......
Here`s a quick one I made. I wanted to use my own picture but my horse is chestnut,
so I made her white with filters then added the horn!!!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which was written for P.S.P V7, but should easily adapt for other versions.
