BALLERINA SIG TAG (In PSP 8) |
Paint Shop Pro Tutorials by Karen |
I have often been asked how I made some of my "mosaic / reflection" sig tags I use
on emails, in particular also how to do them in version 8. To be truthful, I didn`t take much notice what I did to make them, I just played with the effects until I liked what I saw. Therefore I can`t recreate my tags exactly as they are, but I have made the one above specifically to give you some idea, and I did it in version 8 !. Before we begin you will need my tube... CLICK HERE to download and unzip into your PSP8 Tubes folder. Ready?... let`s create our ballerina sig tag! |

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial which is written for PSP V 8 but should work in
other versions. |
Start a new image as in fig 1. |
Go layers / new raster layer - accept default settings- ok. Click on the tube tool icon on the left - the tubes tool pallette will now appear above your workspace (fig 2) (it will show the last tube you used.) |
Open the tube pallette by clicking on the little black arrow next to the last tube, scroll through the tubes to find "kktfballetred" and click on it to select. Change the scale size to 80% but leave everything else as they are. (fig 3) |
Click on your canvas to apply the tube, now go adjust / sharpness / sharpen. Next go effects / texture effects / mosaic antique and apply as in fig 4. |
Move the image upwards and to the right a bit as in fig 5 |
Add a new layer then reapply the tube as before, go adjust / sharpness / sharpen, then image / mirror. Now repeat effects / texture effects / mosaic antique as before. Move the second tube upwards and to the left to "mirror" the first one. (fig 6) |
Add a new layer then reapply the tube, but change the scale size to 85%. Place it central but bring it down a bit on the canvas (fig 7) |

Now go effects / 3D effects / drop shadow and apply as in fig 8 |

Repeat the drop shadow but change the vertical offset to -5 and horizontal offset
to 5. (fig 9) |

Go layers / merge / merge visible. Click on the text tool icon on the left (A) your text tool pallette will now appear above your workspace. (fig 10) |
Click on the little black arrows to make your choices... on "create as" select "floating" on "font" select the font of your choice ( I am using "Tilt A Whirl" ) on "size" select an appropriate text size for your name. Tick / Check "anti-alias - and if required click on B to make it bold. Set the foreground colour to black and the background colour to cherry / medium shade red. Type in your name then click on your canvas to apply. Now go layers / arrange / move down and move the text to the bottom, as if the ballerina is standing on it. Keep the text selected then go effects / edge / enhance more - then repeat it once. Deselect ( selections / select none) then go layers / merge / merge visible. Resize if you wish but remember to go adjust / sharpness / sharpen. Add a frame or border if you wish then save it. That`s it! |
