Before you begin any meditation or any other form of spiritual communication,
it is most important that you first
Protect yourself .

Everyone meditates differently, concentrates on and experiences different things.
Meditation is as individual and unique as the person doing it, but is the best, calmest
and safest way to contact the spirit world, especially if you are a beginner.
Try to set aside time to meditate at least once a day, about 10-15 minutes at first,
extending to up to about 30 minutes once you are more used to it. 
You may sometimes need or take a little longer than this when you are more proficient.
It might help you to try to meditate at or around the same time each day if possible.
Personally I meditate in between delivering my children to school and my husband returning home
from night shift about an hour later. I sometimes also try to set aside a little time during the day if
I find myself alone and able to do so, or even when alone at night before I go to bed.
Eventually you will find a time or routine that suits you and will fit it in like second nature.
Try to make sure you will be comfortable, and try to ensure there will be no disturbances.
You can sit in a favourite chair, on the floor, lay down or whatever way you prefer. 
It is not a good idea to meditate when you are tired...
you might fall asleep and leave yourself open and vulnerable to unwanted activity!.
Beginners may find it helpful to quietly play calming or special meditation music to aid relaxation,
eventually you should be able to meditate better in total silence.
As soon as you are ready to begin you can do so...
you can use my routine or make up your own. Some people use my routine but replace the lake
with a waterfall, meadow, mountain or other place they like, some use the lake idea and imagine
they are quietly and gently floating in a boat... whichever works for you is OK.

Ready?... This is how I meditate...

Having completed my protection and opening routine, I now make sure there should be no disturbances by switching off the TV and lights, made sure the dog doesn`t need toilet, put on the answering machine and turned down the phone, made sure I won`t be too hot or too cold, and will be comfortable.
I remove my shoes and relieve any restrictions from tight clothing.
I sit in my favourite armchair, allow myself to sink into the upholstery and give myself a few moments
to unwind. During these few moments I concentrate on my breathing,
taking long slow inward breaths through my nose, then breathing out slowly through my mouth,
until I have a steady even breathing pattern established and feel relaxed.
Now I will begin to imagine I am walking along the shores of my favourite lake.
I can see the rippling water, fish leaping into the air, mountains all around,
birds flying over and the sun shining above me.
Sometimes a spectacular rainbow will appear across the lake and mountains,
( exactly as it had done the day I took the above photo ) .
... this indicates to me that my Rainbow Angel "Spectrum" is going to come forward during this session.
I can hear the leaves rustling in the warm gentle breeze, and the birds singing in the trees.
I can smell the wonderful scents of the beautiful flowers which are growing all around,
and see the butterflies flitting from one to the other .
I find a nice spot and sit myself down on the grass, I can feel and smell the grass as I do so.
The sun is pleasantly warming. I close my eyes, lay back and concentrate on the golden yellow light
as it surrounds me and gently warms my whole body...inside and out!.
I remain as I am for a few moments as I clear my mind and relax my entire body from top to toe.
I am now totally at peace and ready to accept spiritual contact.
I ask if any of my own good spirits wish to come forward, that they now do so.
I wait quietly. Usually almost immediately, or within a couple of minutes, either my Guardian Angel (Toyta)... my Guide ( Al ) or my special spirit helper (Spectrum) come forward into the light.
Sometimes two or more will come together, or one may bring with them another spirit they wish me to meet, or bring a message from another spirit intended for me personally or to pass to someone else. Sometimes they may not have anything to say but just bring pure love and peace.
Contact can last anything between several minutes, to an hour or so,
depending how much they have to say or how many wish to come forward at that particular time.
Once it is clear the connection is about to end, I thank them for coming forward and for all the love and help or messages they gave me. Sometimes we may shake hands ( this is usually with Toyta or Al ) ,
sometimes hold hands or embrace (this is usually with Spectrum) then say goodbye until next time.
They then wave, turn around and depart from the light.
I stand up and slowly walk back in the opposite direction to where I joined the lake shoreline.
I conciously make myself aware I am sitting in my chair and bring myself gently back to the Earth plane.
I keep my eyes closed a few moments and keep my breathing steady,
I
close the session and then open my eyes ready to face the day...


( Although it is best to stick with the same visualisation once you find one that works for you,
it doesn`t hurt to vary it sometimes.
I occasionally change the scene and "visit" my favourite waterfall or country park,
or even go for a nice peaceful horseback ride out in the middle of nowhere.
When I am in my development circle then we all need to visualise the same scene,
and more often than not we use a waterfall. )
